“24-Hour Campaign by Cancer Charity Combats Isolation”

From Me to You, a national cancer support charity, is launching a 24-hour online Letter Writing Marathon in honor of World Cancer Day 2026. The event, to be held on February 7th and 8th, aims to bring people from around the world together to write and donate letters to the charity’s Donate A Letter program.

The charity, which promotes the power of letter-writing in creating connections and providing comfort to those affected by cancer, processed over 17,000 letters last year alone. Harriet Marsh, Charity Manager, states, “Last year we hosted our first ever 24-hour Letter Writing Marathon and it was a huge success. This year, we’re inviting everyone to join us online and do something special for cancer patients who may be feeling isolated.”

The 24-hour event will begin at 9am on Saturday, February 7th and will run until 9am on Sunday, February 8th. Participants can join for as little as one hour and will be guided through the letter-writing process during the event. Free tickets are available for the marathon and can be obtained through the charity’s website.

In addition to the online marathon, From Me to You will also be hosting three in-person Letter Writing Workshops. One will take place at the IFS Cloud Cable Car experience in Greenwich, London, where attendees can enjoy a day of letter writing and cable car rides for £10. Two events will also be held at RHS Harlow Carr in Harrogate, with tickets priced at £10 and including access to the gardens, light refreshments, and a complimentary stationery box. Tickets for the workshops can be purchased through the charity’s website.

World Cancer Day, which aims to highlight the impact of the disease on individuals, is at the core of From Me to You’s work. Co-founder Alison Hitchcock is available for interviews to discuss the charity’s mission to inspire people to write letters to those living with cancer. Both donors and recipients of letters can sign up through the charity’s website.
