All Things Equal Offers Free Digital Marketing Help to Charities Hit by Funding Cuts

Last Updated on:

Leeds-based agency All Things Equal is providing free digital marketing drop-in sessions to help small charities manage their communications more effectively during the ongoing funding crisis.

The Zoom-based sessions are held fortnightly at 11am UK time and focus on giving practical, easy-to-implement solutions for marketing challenges. To date, seven sessions have been delivered, supporting over 20 charities at no cost. Attendees have praised the initiative, with one calling it a “lifeline”, and many leaving with clear strategies to improve their outreach and engagement.

Research from the Charities Aid Foundation shows that charitable giving has dropped by 11% in the last ten years, leaving many organisations under increasing pressure to find new ways to connect with supporters.

All Things Equal co-founder Matt Saunders said: “Charities in the UK face a perfect storm – government support for their services is being cut, donations are in freefall and funders are struggling to meet demand. At the same time, the needs of service users are increasing, putting charities under extraordinary pressure.

“Most charities have only one person doing all their comms, from email to social media to bid writing. That’s a huge burden to bear alone. Our support sessions not only give them space to share their challenges, but also provide a space to meet others in the sector. Often, people walk away feeling lighter, and with a handful of ideas to implement.”

The team has set a bold target to support more than 1,000 small charities within the next 12 to 18 months. Previous sessions have welcomed participants from organisations supporting children, survivors of domestic abuse, people with sight loss, and local communities – and the sessions remain open to all.
