“B&Q Staff Give Back to Community by Assisting Elderly at Age Concern Hampshire Centers in New Milton and Locks Heath”

B&Q Employees Volunteer Time and Products to Age Concern Hampshire

On Monday, July 21, 2025, a team of dedicated employees from home improvement retailer B&Q offered their support to Age Concern Hampshire (ACH), a charity dedicated to helping older people in Hampshire. The team volunteered their time to improve the organization’s Care and Wellbeing Centres in Locks Heath and New Milton, updating the interior design, re-decorating rooms, and upgrading soft furnishings.

The Centres provide personalized support for clients, many of whom live with additional needs such as Dementia and Alzheimer’s. These spaces are essential for family members and carers, providing a secure and supportive environment for their loved ones. ACH also offers accessible transport options to extend its services beyond the Centres and into the community.

The organization’s services include specialist day care sessions that promote mobility, mental health, cognitive sustainability, and nutrition. Clients also enjoy social interaction and person-centered care, all designed to enhance independence and improve their quality of life.

The B&Q employees’ support was part of the company’s wider Community Days program, which sees groups of volunteers from B&Q helping to improve community spaces and make a positive difference in the communities they operate in. This year, almost 300 charities across the country will receive the same support, with thousands of B&Q colleagues volunteering their time for worthwhile causes.

Marysia Noble, B&Q representative, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, saying, “It’s great to be helping out Age Concern Hampshire. The whole team loves putting their practical skills to use, and when it’s to support a good cause, it’s even better. Seeing a project completed by the team gives a great sense of satisfaction.”

Brogan Rehill of Age Concern Hampshire also expressed her gratitude for the team’s efforts, stating, “We are delighted to have had the team from B&Q support us by giving up their time to improve our space. They have transformed our space into a warm and welcoming environment, creating an atmosphere of comfort. A huge thank you to B&Q and their colleagues for making this happen.”
