UK entrepreneur and lifelong electric skateboarding enthusiast James Finch-Knightley has announced the official debut of PevClean — the country’s first water-free cleaner and nano-protectant developed specifically for electric skateboards, scooters and bikes.
Despite the boom in PEV use, the market has lacked a suitable product that cleans effectively without endangering sensitive electronics. Conventional bike or automotive cleaners have long fallen short. PevClean was created to fill this void.
After two years of trials and development, the innovative cleaner is now available to purchase in the UK and internationally.
“I built PevClean because nothing out there respected the electronics, paintwork, or design of my boards. It was either too harsh, too weak, or just not made for the way we ride,” said Finch-Knightley, who’s been riding e-skates for over a decade. “Now, we’ve created something from the community, for the community.”
The spray-and-wipe formula requires no water, helping prevent rust or damage to electrical components.
It is safe for use on a wide array of materials such as paint, plastics, carbon fibre, grip surfaces, wood, and fragile electronics. A nano-layer also forms to repel dirt, salt and moisture over time.
PevClean’s journey began in a home garage in Suffolk, with extensive testing carried out by Finch-Knightley and his partner Rebecca on different terrains — from urban streets to coastal paths. Rider feedback consistently praised its cleaning strength and safety for tech components.
PevClean is now retailing for £14.00 in a 500ml spray bottle, available at www.pevclean.com/shop with free shipping across the UK and options for global delivery.
The team behind PevClean is also inviting collaborations with influencers and stocking partnerships from domestic and international retailers.
Aimed at urban riders, explorers, and daily e-commuters, PevClean is among the first to truly address the care and maintenance needs of electric rides, rather than repurposing existing solutions meant for other vehicles.
