Routemaster Association Names New Chairman

The Routemaster Association, a well-respected organization dedicated to the preservation and celebration of the iconic Routemaster bus, recently held its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) at The Oxford Bus Museum in Long Hanborough. The meeting, which took place on Saturday 1st March, marked a significant change in leadership as John Ward, who had served as Chairman since 2022, stepped down from his position. Ward, who had taken on the role during a crucial time with the imminent delivery of the highly anticipated RM70, expressed his gratitude for the support he received from the committee and vehicle owners during his tenure.

Replacing Ward as Chairman is David Lee, a long-standing member of the committee who has been involved with the association since 2013. In his statement after the meeting, Lee expressed his honor and privilege at being elected as Chairman and his eagerness to take on the challenges ahead. He also noted the positive development of having a full committee of dedicated and talented volunteers, stating his confidence in their ability to drive the association forward. Lee acknowledged the challenging times for vintage vehicle clubs but remained optimistic about the Routemaster Association’s ability to adapt and thrive. He emphasized the association’s commitment to supporting its members by facilitating the re-manufacture of essential mechanical and bodywork components and ensuring its future for years to come.

The Routemaster Association’s AGM was distributed by the reputable press release distribution company, https://pressat.co.uk/, on Tuesday 11 March, 2025. The association looks forward to the continued support of its members and the public as it moves into this new chapter with a strong and dedicated team at the helm.
