On October 9, 2025, the Hampshire and Surrey Hills Men’s Choir proudly presented their donations from their summer concert to the Community Partnerships Fundraiser for Sebastian’s Action Trust charity, Louise Gough.
Sebastian’s Action Trust is a charitable organization that provides support to families of seriously ill children. Their services include emotional, practical, and social care throughout the journey of these families. They also offer respite breaks at their specialist center in Hampshire, where families can enjoy support and fun activities.
The beautiful St. Thomas-on-The Bourne Church was the venue for the choir’s concert in June, under the direction of Musical Director Philip Viveash-Brainch and Deputy Conductor James Harrison, with accompanist Charlotte Hobbs.
Despite a heatwave and the competing Farnham Carnival, the concert saw a wonderful turnout of an audience who were treated to an exceptional performance by the choir and members of the choir as soloists or in a small group called the “Hash Tags”.
During the presentation, choir Chair Mark Kusionowicz expressed the choir’s enthusiasm for supporting local charities, particularly Sebastian’s Action Trust, which holds a special place in the heart of their Musical Director, Philip Viveash-Brainch. The charity was inspired by the story of Sebastian, a brave young boy who unfortunately lost his battle with cancer at the age of nine, and whom Philip had the privilege of teaching. The choir is proud to support the charity’s important work.
In response, Louise Gough graciously accepted the donation and expressed her gratitude to the choir for their outstanding concert. She also shared the various activities that the charity was able to provide for their clients, thanks to the contributions from the concert.
