Enrolmate, a leading educational consultancy, has reported a marked increase in interest among its student clients for cybersecurity degrees, reflecting the UK’s growing appetite for advanced tech skills in higher education.
This surge comes as part of a wider trend in UK university enrolment, with the company confirming it has assisted over 500 students in securing places at British institutions this year alone.
Established in 2023 by Romanian-born entrepreneur Mihai Flueraru, Enrolmate provides free guidance to students navigating the complex university admissions process.
The consultancy’s personalised support has been especially beneficial for those aiming to enter the rapidly expanding field of cybersecurity — an area recognised for its crucial role in both national security and the digital economy.
Enrollmate Founder, Mihai Flueraru.
Mihai’s own background as a migrant worker, arriving in Kent in 2017 and working his way up through multiple jobs before moving into educational advisory, underpins Enrolmate’s mission to make higher education more accessible to underrepresented groups.
“From my own journey, I know how daunting the UK education system can feel when you’re new to the country,” said Mihai. “Our mission is to break down those barriers, so everyone has the chance to earn a degree and change their future.”
Cybersecurity courses are now among the fastest-growing areas of interest, surpassing more traditional academic pathways. This reflects the UK Government’s initiatives to strengthen the national cyber workforce and attract overseas talent.
Since its launch, Enrolmate has helped hundreds gain entry to UK universities, often securing scholarships and funding that students might not otherwise have discovered.
“We’ve grown so much in the past two years, and this is because more and more people want accessible pathways into education,” Mihai added.
The consultancy now plans to extend its reach through education fairs and collaborations with community organisations, helping more students explore opportunities in cybersecurity and other emerging sectors.
