A Buckinghamshire farm is celebrating the arrival of seven piglets believed to be the smallest ever born on site, each sired by a boar currently under review for a Guinness World Record.
The litter was born earlier this week at Kew Little Pigs Farm in Old Amersham. Their father, Pluto, is a Juliana boar measuring 38 centimetres in height, widely regarded as the smallest proven adult boar on record. His official recognition is still pending, but farm staff say the latest arrivals highlight his unusual size and character.
“This is a really special moment for us,” said Olivia Mikhail, owner of Kew Little Pigs. “We’ve never had a litter this small in size before. Bambi is being a wonderful first-time mum, and all of the piglets are doing well.”
Pluto, born in February 2024, has already drawn attention beyond the farm, appearing in a London vodka brand’s advertising campaign. He is known locally as a gentle and sociable animal, and with another sow named Venus also thought to be pregnant, staff expect his offspring to increase further in the coming months.
“He might be small enough to sit on your lap, but he is leaving a lasting mark here,” Mikhail said. “If his piglets take after him, they will be very special animals.”
Kew Little Pigs is recognised as one of the UK’s leading ethical breeders of micro pigs and ranks among the top 10 percent of animal attractions on TripAdvisor. The farm offers hands‑on visits and educational sessions and is preparing for Alice in Wonderland‑themed events over the summer, which include music, games and pig encounters.
To mark the new arrivals, visitors can use the code familyfun10 for a discount on tickets booked through the farm’s website. Mikhail said the team takes pride in finding permanent homes for the animals they raise.
“We want to show what responsible pig ownership looks like,” she added. “It’s rewarding to see them grow into healthy pets, and Pluto’s latest litter is part of that story.”
