London, 05.06.2025 – World Rugby and Stepathlon have announced a groundbreaking collaboration with the launch of Road to Twickenham powered by Stepathlon. This exciting global fan engagement and wellness initiative aims to involve supporters in the largest Women’s Rugby World Cup to date.

Road to Twickenham is a dynamic Virtual Challenge, exclusively hosted on the Rugby World Cup App. It began 100 days before the first match of the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, where hosts England will face off against USA at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on August 22nd.

With the upcoming Women’s Rugby World Cup already set to be the biggest celebration of women’s rugby ever, Road to Twickenham provides an opportunity for fans around the world to participate and learn more about the players, teams, and venues.

Fans can engage in physical activity, contests, and quizzes to earn points and compete against other global fans for exclusive prizes, including tickets, merchandise, and matchday experiences. This initiative aims to build a global, active community of fans who are passionate about Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.

Stepathlon, an organization committed to supporting the growth of women’s sport, has partnered with World Rugby for Road to Twickenham. The initiative will celebrate the Women’s Rugby World Cup and raise awareness of the women’s game by encouraging fans to get active, participate, and support their favorite teams. Road to Twickenham is open to anyone, anywhere, and at any time.

The Road to Twickenham challenge will be conducted in two phases. The first phase, Road to Twickenham – 100 Days to Go Prep Sprint, will run until August 21st and will encourage participants to embark on a virtual journey through the eight host locations. Along the way, they will complete a series of fun, wellness-based, and rugby-inspired tasks to earn points and win exclusive rewards, including match tickets. This phase will build excitement and anticipation for the main challenge.

The second phase, Road to Twickenham, will take place from August 22nd to September 27th, coinciding with the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025. Participants will progress through match-day inspired challenges tied to real-time tournament moments. As fans climb the leaderboard, they will have the chance to win tickets, merchandise, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. The Road to Twickenham will culminate in a grand finale, with top participants heading to Twickenham to watch the Final on September 27th, live, with exclusive hospitality.
