Motel One Group Achieves Nearly $1 Billion in Financial Report for 2024, Achieving Record Sales and Robust Growth

Munich, Germany – The Motel One Group has announced a successful 2024 financial year, with a record-breaking annual turnover of EUR 980 million. The company’s stable occupancy rate, combined with dynamic growth, saw an average occupancy rate of 71 per cent, supported by a strong performance in the final quarter. Additionally, the Group saw a significant increase in EBITDA, with management EBITDA rising to EUR 265 million, a 13 per cent increase compared to 2023.

The company’s success in a challenging market environment was driven by a combination of network expansion, increased pricing power, and operational excellence. With a total of 99 hotels and 27,928 rooms in operation in 13 countries, Motel One is considered the originator of the budget design hotel category and has won multiple awards for its concept.

The Group’s financial report for the full year of 2024 shows key financial figures, with a 15 per cent increase in revenue from EUR 851.5 million in 2023 to EUR 979.6 million in the past financial year. EBITDAR also increased by 14 per cent to EUR 532 million, with a stable margin of 54.3 per cent. Management EBITDA amounted to EUR 265 million, an increase of almost 13 per cent compared to the previous year.

The strength of the brand was evident in the fourth quarter of 2024, with a TRevPAR of EUR 102 and an occupancy rate of 74 per cent. The group expanded its network with five new hotels and a total of 1,458 additional rooms, including two new The Cloud One Hotels in Düsseldorf and Gdańsk and a Motel One in Antwerp. By the end of 2024, the Group operated a total of 99 hotels.

The Motel One Group has retained its top position and AAA rating from Treugast Solutions Group, highlighting the successful expansion of the brand portfolio and flexibility in development and revenue management. The Group also won the Most Wanted Investment Partner award. Additionally, the Motel One Group has been recognized as one of the top employers in Germany for the seventh time, further highlighting the company’s positive corporate culture and outstanding working conditions.

Looking towards the future, the Motel One Group has a positive business outlook for 2025, with plans to open five new hotels with 1,140 rooms in Munich, London, Lisbon, Paris, and Vienna. The Group’s partnership agreement with PAI Partners, announced in February 2025, will see PAI acquire an 80 per cent stake in the company’s operational business to support its international growth. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
