Headline Sponsor Secured for Francis House Children’s Hospice Hike

Francis House Children’s Hospice has announced the headline sponsor for its annual Cheshire Three Peaks Challenge, with Cardinal Partnership taking on the role. This highly anticipated event is set to take place on Sunday, 22 June 2025 and will see participants trekking through the breathtaking Macclesfield countryside.

The challenge attracts individuals, families, and corporate teams, who can choose between a strenuous 13.6 mile hike offering stunning views from the summits of Tegg’s Nose, Shutlingsloe, and Shining Tor, or a family-friendly 6.5 mile ramble through the scenic moorland and woodland.

Cardinal Partnership, the world’s largest employee-owned logistics business, has been supporting Francis House since 2019 through various fundraising initiatives and is proud to once again sponsor the event. A team from its Manchester head office will be participating in the walk to raise additional funds.

A spokesperson for the Cardinal Trust Committee expressed their excitement about the partnership with Francis House, stating: “The Cardinal Partnership is delighted to sponsor the Cheshire Three Peaks Challenge once again to raise money for Francis House Children’s Hospice. This is a fantastic event that combines adventure and charity, and last year, several of our Partners took part and found it to be an exhilarating and rewarding experience. By sponsoring this event, we are thrilled to continue supporting such a worthy cause and encouraging our Partners to make a positive impact on the community.”

Francis House provides support to over 600 families from Greater Manchester and Cheshire from its base in Didsbury, Manchester. All funds raised from the event will go towards providing specialized care for children, teenagers, and young adults with life-limiting conditions in a comfortable and secure environment.

Rachel Nasiri, Francis House’s Fundraising Officer, expressed her gratitude to Cardinal Partnership for their sponsorship, stating: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helps make the Cheshire Three Peaks Challenge a success, including Cardinal Partnership as our headline sponsor. Their sponsorship will contribute to the various costs of running our event, allowing us to significantly increase our profits.”

The hospice relies on charitable donations to the tune of £4.8 million each year to continue providing its services, including respite care, sibling support, and bereavement support.

Rachel added: “Both walks offer stunning views as they wind through the picturesque Cheshire countryside. This is an excellent opportunity to support a much-loved children’s charity while enjoying the great outdoors. I urge anyone with a good level of fitness to join us on this challenge and register today.”

Both routes start at Tegg’s Nose Country Park and are fully flagged, with rest-stop checkpoints for refreshments along the way. Registration for the event is £22 for the longer route, which includes a packed lunch, and £15 for the shorter route. Children under 16 can participate for free but must be accompanied by an adult. Each participant will receive a route guide, T-shirt, and tips on how to raise sponsorship.
