MHM Launches New Three-Year Strategy to Address Increasing Demand for Mental Health Services
On Monday 14 April, 2025, the mental health charity Mental Health Matters (MHM) announced the launch of its new three-year strategy, titled “Proud Past, Bold Future.” With a track record of over 40 years and having supported over 145,000 people in the last year alone, the strategy outlines MHM’s commitment to addressing the growing demand for mental health services, expanding its reach to new communities, and strengthening its role as a sector leader in mental health support.
The plan aims to utilize the charity’s decades of experience to tackle the increasing demand for mental health services and provide support in new areas such as neurodiversity and children and young people.
The launch of the new strategy coincides with the appointment of Jasmine Whitbread as Chair of the Board of Trustees. With relevant experience in both the charity and private sectors, Whitbread brings a wealth of knowledge to the organization. She has previously held executive positions at Save the Children and Oxfam, as well as management roles with technology-oriented companies.
CEO of Mental Health Matters, Jane Hughes, expressed her excitement about the new strategy, stating, “Our Strategy for 2025-28 is ambitious as we seek to grow further and work with new communities where we know there is unmet need.” She also welcomed Whitbread to the team, saying, “Jasmine’s wealth of experience across the sector will help lead us on the next stage of our journey and reach more people in need of crucial support.”
