Second Edition of The Irish Bucket List Offers Fresh Insights and Hidden Gems

Belfast-born writer and travel entrepreneur Stevie Haughey has unveiled the second edition of The Irish Bucket List: 101 Places to See in Ireland Before You Die, a bestselling guidebook that showcases Ireland’s most stunning locations and secret treasures.

The first edition, released in 2017, quickly became a favourite among travellers and planners alike, offering an insider’s perspective on Ireland’s most captivating destinations.

Following years of further exploration and discovery, Haughey has reimagined the book, incorporating new locations, untold stories, and expert tips to create an even more enriching experience for readers.

Haughey’s passion for exploring Ireland began at the age of 19 when he moved from Belfast to study in England. It was only after leaving his homeland that he truly began to appreciate Ireland’s beauty.

“Living away from home made me realise just how special Ireland is,” says Haughey. “People spoke about it with such admiration, and yet I had barely scratched the surface of what was on my own doorstep. That realisation changed everything.”

Determined to explore his native land more thoroughly, Haughey set out on a journey to discover Ireland’s hidden gems. What began as a personal quest evolved into Ireland Before You Die, a passion project that has since grown into one of Ireland’s largest independent travel platforms, now followed by over 700,000 people.

Building on the success of Ireland Before You Die, Haughey published the first edition of The Irish Bucket List in 2017. It became an instant Amazon bestseller in the Irish travel category. After experiencing countless new adventures, he felt the time was right to release an updated version.

“Ireland has evolved, and so has this book,” Haughey explains. “The new edition is bigger, more detailed, and packed with fresh insights. From world-famous landmarks to off-the-beaten-track gems, this guide is designed to help travellers experience Ireland in the most authentic way possible.”

For Haughey, The Irish Bucket List is not just a travel guide – it’s a celebration of Ireland’s heritage, landscapes, and culture.

“This book is for anyone who has ever felt a connection to Ireland,” he adds. “Whether you were born here, have Irish roots, or simply dream of visiting, it’s a reminder that sometimes the most incredible adventures are closer than we think.”

The second edition of The Irish Bucket List is now available for pre-order, with copies set to be dispatched from 27th February 2025 – just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. It can be purchased on Amazon and through shop.irelandbeforeyoudie.com.
