Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva to Auction 6,000 Items Ahead of Major Renovation
Historic Swiss Landmark Prepares for Transformation with Largest Hotel Contents Auction in Europe
GENEVA – The Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva will auction off 6,000 items in February 2025 ahead of a major renovation, marking the largest sale of hotel contents ever held in Europe. The four-day event presents an opportunity for collectors, hospitality operators, and design enthusiasts to acquire pieces from one of Switzerland’s most renowned five-star hotels before it undergoes an extensive transformation.
The sale, conducted by Pro Auction, will include furniture, artwork, and accessories from guest rooms, as well as items from the hotel’s restaurants, banquet halls, commercial kitchens, and terraces. Notably, assets from the 1,400-seat Théâtre du Léman will also be made available.
Simon Rose, director of the auction, described the event as a significant milestone. “This is more than just a sale—it’s a rare chance to own a piece of the hotel’s history,” he said.
