Norfolk Clubhouse Demonstrates the Importance of Collaboration through Corporate Sponsorship

Norfolk Clubhouse, a mental health charity based in Norfolk, is pleased to announce that it has been selected as the new ‘charity of the year’ by digital agency Candour. As part of this partnership, Candour has committed to providing support through fundraising efforts, monetary donations, and free digital marketing services, with an initial contribution of £10,000.

Launched in 2019 by psychotherapist June Webb, Norfolk Clubhouse is a grassroots charity that aims to empower adults in the Norfolk community through holistic mental health support. The organization offers a safe and welcoming space for individuals to come together, build friendships, learn new skills, and receive assistance in finding or re-entering the workforce.

Operating in Norwich and Watton, Norfolk Clubhouse is the only enterprise of its kind in East Anglia. There are currently over 370 Clubhouses worldwide, each operating independently under the Clubhouse model. This model allows those seeking support to join as free members and actively participate in the charity’s plans and activities, rather than being passive “service users.”

June Webb, founder of Norfolk Clubhouse, expressed her gratitude for Candour’s support, stating, “We are incredibly grateful to Candour for believing in our mission and for this generous donation. This unrestricted funding will greatly aid our growth in 2025 and provide us with the flexibility to offer additional activities and resources.”

The funds provided by Candour will be used to expand the services offered by Norfolk Clubhouse, with a specific focus on activities that promote mental health recovery and the development of skills and social connections.

Members of Norfolk Clubhouse have attested to the positive impact the organization has had on their lives. One member shared, “I was in a dark place and needed to do something. Joining the group gave me a lifeline, and it helps me stay grounded. I enjoy the camaraderie and interactions. There is no judgment, and I feel safe and free to express myself.”

Research on the success of the Clubhouse mental health model globally has shown that 71% of individuals using this type of service have reported progress in their recovery from mental illness, compared to only 52% of those using alternative services.

Mark Williams-Cook, SEO Director at Candour, expressed his enthusiasm for supporting Norfolk Clubhouse as their charity of the year for 2025. He stated, “We are thrilled to be able to support Norfolk Clubhouse and their invaluable work in the community. We are proud to raise awareness of their services and to provide essential support.”
