Piers Day Launches Pioneering Men’s Mental Health Programme

Last Updated on:

Award-winning mental health coach Piers Day is launching a transformative national programme aimed at supporting men’s mental health, challenging the stigma around men speaking about their struggles.

The initiative, called Out of the Darkness and Into the Lighthouse, is a holistic mental health programme designed to support men of all ages, providing a safe space to discuss mental health openly, with practical support, coping strategies, and a strong community focus.

With activities such as webinars, regular group meet-ups, and weekend retreats, the programme offers men opportunities for group walks, fear-facing exercises, and small-group getaways. Signature events include a 26-mile Pedlands Way walk in one day, as well as holistic retreats with therapies like Reiki. Both virtual and in-person support are available, making the programme accessible across the UK.

Motivated by a mission to “make suicide history,” Piers launched this programme following the loss of close friends to suicide. Through Out of the Darkness, he aims to provide men with the tools they need to manage mental health, break down barriers, and encourage openness.

The programme also includes resources for parents, supporting them in addressing their children’s mental health needs. The concept of the Lighthouse symbolises a place of safety and guidance during difficult times.

Piers has also cultivated a community through the Out of the Darkness Facebook group, with over 400 members joining ahead of the official UK launch. This platform enables ongoing discussion and peer support.

The programme operates on a flexible membership basis, giving clients access to a wide range of services and an exclusive membership site. With paid clients already on board, the official launch is planned for the next fortnight.

Piers Day stated: “There is no question that some support exists, but the reality is there is not enough—especially for men. Too many guys are slipping through the cracks because they don’t feel comfortable opening up in traditional settings.

“That’s why Out of the Darkness and Into the Light House is so important. It’s about creating a space where men can genuinely connect, feel heard, and work through their challenges without judgment. This isn’t just about talking; it’s about action—facing fears, building resilience, and ultimately saving lives. I’ve seen first-hand the devastating impact of silence, and I’m determined to make sure no man feels like he has to battle his demons alone.”

With suicide still one of the top causes of death among men under 50, Out of the Darkness and Into the Lighthouse is designed to offer hope and a supportive community where men can find strength together.
