“Marking 21 Years of the SOS Africa Children’s Charity”

SOS Africa, a UK-based charitable organization, recently celebrated its 21st anniversary of transforming the lives of children in the Western Cape and beyond. The organization was founded in 2003 by Matt Crowcombe, an 18-year-old gap student at the time, who donated his pocket money to support a child’s education in South Africa.

Since then, SOS Africa has grown into a thriving organization with four education centers across the Western Cape. To commemorate this milestone, the organization hosted a birthday party at its newly opened Gordon’s Bay Education Centre on Thursday, 14 November 2024. The event was attended by VIP guests, including staff and children from all four education centers.

The party was a joyous and emotional occasion, with everyone united as members of the SOS Africa family. Founder Matt Crowcombe reflected on the early days of the organization when he walked the first sponsored child to his first day of school. He expressed his gratitude for being able to witness human kindness and determination every day through his work.

The children enjoyed a variety of activities, including a traditional South African braai, party games, and a bouncy castle. The high school students ended the afternoon by relaxing at Gordon’s Bay’s iconic beach. The event was filled with laughter and smiles, as described by some of the children in attendance.

With a bright future ahead, Matt Crowcombe would like to thank all the sponsors, donors, and fundraisers who have made a difference in the lives of the SOS kids. He acknowledges the generosity and faith of the supporters who have never met the children but continue to support the organization’s cause.

To continue making a difference, SOS Africa invites individuals to sponsor a child in South Africa. For more information, please visit their website. Distributed by https://pressat.co.uk/
