The
'Investors Business Hour': "Where Wall Street
Talks and Smart Money Listens"
|
|
LDV
Consulting is a financial consulting firm in the South Florida
area. Its President is popular South Florida radio
pesonality James DePelisi. Jim hosts the acclaimed
financial news radio program known as the “Investors Business
Hour” which is broadcasted daily on one of the premiere Financial
Radio Stations in the United States: WSBR 740AM - MONEYTALK RADIO. WSBR’s coverage spans
from South Miami, Florida, to Port St. Lucie, Florida (just
south of Orlando).
The demographics of the listeners are recognized as the
“Money People of Florida”.
The “Investor’s Business Hour”
currently broadcasts “The Morning Show” on WSBR
740AM, every morning from 6:30
a.m. to 7:00 a.m. This is
considered “Morning Drive Time”.
As a Radio show host, Jim has a
solid reputation and a strong following in the state of the
Florida. He has
more than 10 years of Public Speaking and Radio experience,
and teaches investment courses at both Florida Atlantic
University (FAU) and Broward Community College (BCC)
respectively.
Moreover, he possesses significant audience credibility
due to his financial knowledge and candid interview
process.
Investors radiate to the Investor’s Business Hour
because of its call-in format and the personal attention that
Jim gives listeners over the air. In certain instances,
he also has prestigious guests on the show which include,
analysts, CEO’s, as well as top growth companies.
The “Investors Business Hour”
has been on the radio for seven years, and has literally
become a “Hit” as an endless multitude of financial minded
listeners have consistently listened and called upon the
show. The
companies that have been guests on the show are also very
pleased with the amounts of business and trading volumes that
have increased in their companies. Although its main
objective has been to talk about the stock market, the show is
an interactive show that is quite enhanced, exciting and
different from what the rest of the financial radio industry
is doing.
The “Investor’s Business Hour”
show is similar to a CNBC format as the status of the daily
stock market is discussed. The pros and cons of
the overall market are also addressed. The most integral
portion of the show is to take call-ins from the audience, and
give them one-on-one chart reviews on stocks of their
interest. If you
are receiving this information, there is a possibility that
listeners of the show have previously inquired about your
company’s stock on the “Investor’s Business Hour”. If so, the “Investor’s
Business Hour” will feature and showcase your company through
a choreographed, mini-series, expose. In addition to key
interviews with members of your company, the
format will break down all the positive aspects and segments
of your business.
This forum will be user friendly and furnish a
full,
painted-picture, exposure to the South Florida business
community.
To build a successful listener
following “The Morning Show” will conduct interviews with key
members of your
company on a weekly basis, for approximately 16 to 20
minutes, for five straight weeks. In essence, your company will have a
total of
80-100 minutes of of public exposure within a one
month (five week) period.
Additionally, during
the days that you are not on the air, your company’s
stock symbol will
be mentioned through periodical updates, informing the
listening audience to be sure to listen to your
live interview the next day.
The mini-series interviews are
normally choreographed as follows:
|
| • |
Week 1 of the monthly
package is usually with an analyst, broker, or investor
relation person that follows your company. This week sets
the stage for the audience;
|
| • |
Week 2 can be with an
executive vice-president or operations manager to speak
about where the company has been, where it is at, and
where it is going; |
| • |
Week 3 can focus on
another tier of management (COO) to speak about
competition and how your company fairs in its overall
sector; |
| • |
Week 4 can be with your
CFO to discuss financial stability and any future
projections; |
| • |
The fifth
and final week can be with the Chairman, CEO, or
President to a put a final stamp on your
company.
|
|
|
However, if
scheduling permits, having the same person on the radio for
all five interviews has shown significant success as
well.
The continuous week after week
of 16 to 20 minute interviews, will build up a consistent
and tangible listening audience. This type of regular listenership
causes interest and anticipation by the public to want to
purchase shares of your company’s stock in larger
proportions. It
can also bring a greater influx of customers to your
company.
The only assistance we need
from your company is any literature that is a matter of public
record, and time to role play with your company a day or two
before each actual live interview. Guests are not
physically required to have to show up at the station. They are more than
welcomed to attend if they want, but all interviews can be
conducted through the telephone. |
WSBR 740AM is South Florida’s only true
MONEYTALK RADIO station. It’s also considered
to be one of the very original Financial Radio Stations in the
United States, as its concept has been MONEYTALK RADIO for over 15 years. WSBR’s format is like
no other station in the United States. Their concept was
conceived and perfected with the idea that programming should
contain subject matter in which ALL listeners have a major
interest ......and that without question is MONEY! The patrons who listen
to WSBR are ones with large net
worths. Its
audience is well educated, more affluent, more motivated, and
has a much higher, average spendable income than any other
radio station audience in South Florida.
WSBR has built a loyal core of
listeners. Its
dial location, 740AM, makes it one of the easiest
radio stations to find on the dial. More
importantly, ALL day long, 24 hours per day, the station
speaks about all aspects of investments, including stocks,
options, bonds, mutual funds, commodites, annuities,
insurance, mortgages, real estate, and much
more. The WSBR audience age ranges from 30
years old to 82 years old, with 39% being female and 61% being
male. The age 50 plus group happens to control over
50% of the nations spendable income and 75% of the
assets. They have
five times the net worth of the average American and represent
an $860 billion dollar market.
South Florida encompasses
4.5 million
people, and is one of the fastest growing areas in the United
States. Moreover,
during the months of
November through April, South Florida is the most
visited area in the world. 77% of the
WSBR listeners live here 12 months
out of the year,
with 68% of them owning their homes free and clear. South Florida is also
considered one of the most affluent markets in the United
States and is often referred to as “Florida’s Money
Market”. The
average spendable income of the WSBR listeners is $51,000 plus,
with 42% of that populous having a spendable income over
$50,000.
WSBR penetrates more people than
any other radio station in Florida with spendable incomes of
over $50,000.
In the Boca Raton - Palm Beach
area, two significant areas where the radio coverage occurs,
the market values of the homes range from $500, 000 dollars to
over a $1 million dollars plus. The average household
annual incomes in these areas are approximately $150,000
plus. The
listeners will go on an average of three vacations per year,
with 60% using a
travel agency.
37% of the listeners are college graduates and all of
the listeners spend an average of 23.5 hours a week listening
to WSBR
740AM MONEYTALK RADIO.
Very Truly
Yours,
James
DePelisi
